Sparkling Celadon Wedding Cake
Every so often, we create a wedding cake so tall (and heavy), that we cannot assemble it at the studio. Jacqueline's wedding cake was such a cake. So we shot each deconstructed tier and then carefully boxed them up for the journey to the venue where we assembled the masterpiece for the first time. Seeing all the planning and hard work come together, and watching the vision finally come to life, I've got to admit, it's a bit a bit of a rush...I think that makes me a bit of a cake-geek, but I don't care, I love what I do!! :-)
Shopkins Lipstick Cake
What a little cutie pie!!! Recreating the Shopkins "Lippy Lips" character out of cake was so much fun. Such a tall, narrow cake took a bit of planning but the finished piece (at almost two feet tall) was totally worth the effort. We made sure to find some extra tall candles that looked great next to the giant lipstick, and what better way to line them up ready for the birthday girl's wish, than in little custom-made cupcake candle holders. Happy Birthday Emina!
Pink + Navy Sugar Cookies
Kerri's bachelorette cookies needed to be extra special, so we designed an extremely glam and girly set using her wedding colors of pink and navy with silver accents. And I must say, I just LOVE how they turned out!!
Fuzzy Monkey Birthday Cake
Oh Snap! Fuzzy Monkey just went 3D!! For those of you who remember the Fuzzy Monkey Baby Shower Cake we created last year, well, 'Baby Xavier' just turned one (I know, how time flies!) and in a few short months he will be getting a new sibling. So we teamed up with Courtney and Joe again (mom and dad) to continue the theme and created a combined first birthday cake for Xavier and a gender-reveal cake for the new baby. Curious?…it's gonna be a boy!!! Who would have thought that a fuzzy little monkey would become the star of his own cake and then grow up to become a cute three-dimensional edible cake topper?!
Could we just point out how cute the little monkey butt is?! ;-)
Xavier's mini cake was smashed open to reveal baby blue, french vanilla buttercream—yay, you're getting a little brother!
Original Fuzzy Monkey Cake created for Xavier's Baby Shower.
The Stegosaurus Dinosaur (who stole my heart) Cake
For the birthday boy who loves dinosaurs, we created a fun Stegosaurus cake for him and his friends to devour. French Vanilla Cake with Hazelnut Buttercream, Chocolate Cake with White Chocolate Mousse, and don't forget those magical mushrooms—I taste-tested one, (you know, for quality control purposes) and they were delicious!
"Steg" the baby dinosaur was amazing to bring to life in the studio. He was four inches tall, green and covered in scales...not the usual qualities I look for...but he absolutely stole my heart!
Wedding Luxury
Congratulations Lindsey and Jess! It was an honor and a true pleasure to create the wedding cake of your dreams for you. We love everything about this cake, from the sugar peonies and quatrefoil pattern, to the edible silver leaf tiers. And as beautiful as this cake looked in the studio, we just had to share one of the reception shots from Chandler Hill Vineyards—such a gorgeous setting for this sophisticated wedding cake.
Maserati Car Cake
The 2016 Maserati GranTurismo is a pretty sweet car. There's no denying it. But our version is made with layers of French vanilla cake, caramel buttercream, and white chocolate ganache—now that's pretty sweet! Happy Birthday Joel! This car suits you perfectly and I'm just saying, I'm gonna need you to pick me up for a test-spin, the minute you get the real thing!! :-)
Cameras, Chucks and Cookies
When a super-awesome, chuck-taylor-wearing photographer needs a sweet favor as part of her rebranding strategy, We. Go. All. Out!! Not only did we create a few dozen logo cookies, but we designed and created some oh-my-goodness-they-are-too-cute-to-eat camera and chuck-taylor cookies to match. I love this fun and funky chick, and her photography skills rock. Check her out over at www.pinxit.photo.
Chanel Sugar Shoe (and a Designer Cake to Match)
Sugar (not spice) is what these shoes are made of!!! But who would want to eat such a little beauty?! Well, luckily for us, we don't have to make that decision. It's all up to Sherryl to answer the question, "Keep or Eat?" Personally, I'd keep the shoe and cut myself a nice big slice of the French Vanilla Cake with Salted Caramel Buttercream!!! :-P
Royal Baby Shower Cake in French Blue
Cake, royalty, and that extra wow-factor. That is how we helped this mother-to-be welcome Baby Zay into the world… we just happen to think it couldn't be any more perfect than that. Unless of course, you add in a dozen royal cupcakes as well. Congratulations on your new arrival, may he be as sweet as this cake ;-)
EDIT: A tutorial is available on how to create this edible royal crown.
